The Williamsons made their home at Hudson, Wisconsin and remained there. Lawrence worked in the maintenance department of the railroad until a back injury made it impossible for him to continue. He then served as an assistant game warden, being very interested in the conservation movement, especially "Saving the St. Croix River."
Ruth worked for several years for an insurance company in St. Paul, Minnesota, from which position she retired August 1, 1973.
