Had a long day today – Fox channel 10 here in Phoenix did a remote at the store and we were out bright and early to get a representative sampling of the toy tester events set up for “background”. Here’s the video (I don’t know how long the video will stay up, so enjoy it while you can) – see if you can pick out a former Marine being helpful and watchful…

Then, I get home, eat dinner, watch CSI and The Mentalist (taped versions, since we’re about two weeks behind anything live) and I check my e-mail. Opened this one, and about died laughing, only because the Air Force never really had any kind of sense of humor when I dealt with them. Maybe it was just me?

Air Force Chief of Staff: Mr. President, we have perfected an invisibility cloak for Air Force One.
Obama: Really? That’s amazing!
Air Force Chief of Staff: Yes sir, it is. Will you be going on her maiden cloaked flight?
Obama: Wouldn’t miss it for the world!
Air Force Chief of Staff: Have a nice trip, sir.

Now, it’s time for bed. I’m tired! Working all day, laughing all night…

And a good one, at that. Learned lots of new stuff at work, and I continue to look forward to learning more and more every time I set foot in the store. The owner is a real wizard for toys in particular and sales in general; the store kind of surprises you when you walk in with how much there is and the variety of it all. It may be a while before I know even half as much as she does about what’s in the store. Then again, she has a ten year head start on me…

The real force behind the store, however, is the Head Toy Tester. She is a real cutie, about nine years old, and the biggest brown eyes you’ve ever seen. She loves nothing more than greeting her friends when they come in to see what’s new; if you want to send her into spasms of joy just ask somebody if you can give McGuire a treat.

This oil rig disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is going to be used, somehow, by the leftists, the environazis, and the MSM as reason to keep the US from drilling it’s own oil. Mark my words.

Arizona’s SB 1070 and related legislation will be denounced, trounced, and contrived as unconstitutional by the leftists, the presidential administration, and the amnesia-prone Napolitano, resulting in even more border issues and more unrest by illegals. Mark my words.

I don’t know what is going to happen in the future, except that in the long run God wins. No matter how many battles are fought, God wins. I do know that because of inaction at the Federal level, the state of Arizona has had to take a drastic step to protect the interests of the LEGAL citizens and LEGAL immigrants. Having state leaders call for boycotts of the state they “represent” is reprehensible. I don’t know if SB 1070 is going to work, but I do know that it is the voice of the majority in this state demanding that something be done. I don’t know if it was the right thing, but it was done. Now, we deal with the aftermath, including unrest and discord between friends; miscommunications, hurt feelings, and possibly even broken friendships. We’ll see.
