Hump Day
May 17th, 2006 . by CaryFirst, gentle reader, go here and sign up on Grassfire, a grass-roots organization that allows you to indicate your level of interest in which areas, and you will receive updates and opportunities to fax your representatives.
I’ve made the dump run, and I’m almost finished with the plastering in the bathroom. Next, I need to run to a home improvement store (my favorite rhymes with doughs) and get some makin’s for a couple of sandwich board signs. I am on the board for my HOA, and we use the signs to announce things like meetings, community yard sales, etc. Two of the four I originally made were stolen while we were in a meeting, so I need to replace those; plus this weekend is a yard sale and I need to put the signs out for that.
I think I’ll do the baseboard tomorrow, and finish up the bathroom as much as possible then.
God bless and keep you all.
The signs that were stolen will probably be used as a lean-to, by some ‘undocumented imigrants’ that found out you were bashing ’em 🙂
Haw! That is funny Gawfer! –
Cary – I want to know if you’ll do me a favor and pick up all the books you can find at the yard sale and ship ’em to me. I’ll pay you next week. – Thanks – Paul
Gawfer – probably.
prying – any particular kind? You don’t look like the type for a bodice rippin’ love thriller, if you get my drift…
Preferably books you can pick up for $1.00 or less and I can sell on eBay for $50-$100. – and any Steven Lawhead…
I have an original edition of Frank Buck’s “Bring ‘Em Back Alive”. How much will that fetch?
I will ceratinly keep my eyes open.
I’ll let you know Saturday evening what I manage to score…
Jarhead – A 1930 copy brought almost $30.00 on Ebay but…
http://www.bookfinder.com/ shows ’em going for well over $100.
By the way, Paul – there weren’t any books on the yard sale. Heck, it was a pretty poor turnout for such a well-publicized yard sale.
Better luck next time. But, I will keep you in mind the next time I wander into a used book store…
