Friday!
June 5th, 2009 . by CaryI’m out driving around in my subtly shaded car:
Chat ya later…
Thank you for stopping by, In GOD We Trust, God bless you all, don’t buy or breed cats or dogs while homeless pets die (spay, neuter & adopt a pet, one by one, until there are none), Wear Red on Fridays, and support Warriors for Innocence!
I wish Chevy would bring back an answer to the LTD…When I was a teenager, I knew those headlights from a half mile (Caprice lights too). I miss stucco houses; none of those here!
So how is this thing “green” Cary?
Flex fuel?
If so, do you have any problems with vapor lock in the heat there?
John – It doesn’t look like GM will be doing anything remotely related to the Caprice or an answer to the LTD/Crown Victoria anytime soon, what with the bankruptcy and new “green” initiatives.
As far as stucco – having lived in one for about nine years now, give me an old-school sticks and bricks house anyday.
Greybeard – the only thing “green” about this particular member of the fleet (and, for the most part, all of the street cabs that are CVs) is the paint scheme. The street fleet all run on gasoline. The Airport cabs (the ones authorized to pickup at Sky Harbor) run on CNG only. The Prius fleet is all hybrid, of course, but even that isn’t “green” enough for the clean-air group running the airport – so no Prius airport taxis.
There are some flex-fuel vehicles running around here in the Valley of Too Much Sun, but not having any experience with them I don’t know if there is a vapor lock issue with them. I do know that fuel injected gasoline cars will occasionally get too warm and lock up if it’s much over 115.
Wow, dig the colours on the Crown Vic!
BZ
Dig this, BZ – I drive with the headlights on at all times. I get dirty looks from people who don’t see me as they try to merge into my driver’s door…
