Thursday Update
July 23rd, 2009 . by CaryI was going to do an update today, but then I’ve been involved in the migration of the Black Canyon Railroad Museum site to a WordPress platform, and decided to go ahead and finish up some little projects over there (big thanks to Bushwack over at American And Proud for the moral support in getting a second wordpress blog going!). I was driving a cab yesterday, had a good shift with a minimum of weirdos. I’ve also been thinking of restarting my BTR show, with an emphasis on interesting web sites and cab stories. What do you think?

I love those cab stories.
Just an fyi it takes about 10 min for this page to load from the feeds. Sometimes it just errors out.
I’m not having problems with other sites so I’m not sure what is causing it.
Anyway, I’m still reading even if I can’t always get in to the comments.
Thanks for the info, Hammer. I’m not sure what could be causing delays, other than my service provider (this news will come as a large shock to Texas Fred and Bushwack, I assure you ;)) but I will try to fix it.
Thanks for the feedback on the cab stories – now, to just figure out a day/time when people would be willing to listen to me chatter…
No problem Cary I really didn’t do anything but tell you you were right….LOL
The site loads slow as do most that are on that server…I don’t see anything on your site that should lag except the counter. my first load of the page hung up on photobucket, the second load, counter held it up.
Spamfree sometimes will cause a lag, make sure you are current on the version….
IF you are using widgets, try editing the sidebar.php to match what you have in widgets and then disable widgets and see if it helps…(Back up your widget codes first of course)

I love model railroading, but have never had the patience to do it myself.
I like the cab stories, too.

Joe – Thank you. The old site was a mish-mash of self-written code that was a pain to maintain, so this was just the only natural evolution to the site. Glad to hear you like the cab stories.
cube – Yes, yes I do – and believe me, if I don’t like the looks or actions of someone, I won’t let them stay in the cab for long. I may be old, but that just means I have more tricks for getting people to do what I want them to…
