Just For Forneus
August 8th, 2006 . by Cary(OK, the rest of you can read it too…)
I had been working on an essay-length answer for many of your questions, Forneus. I even tried to work on it this weekend, but alas, life once again rears it’s head and I have to live it while it is here. No sense delaying that project.
Then, I ran across this at Snopes. It pretty much sums up what I was trying to say, but it says it from the vantage point of someone who lived through it.
I hope this clarifies why I believe the way I do about the mess in the Middle East, where the aggression is coming from, and what it will take for a lasting cease fire to be accomplished.
God bless you all, and I hope this helps you, Forneus.
Cary-There is a god in the bible named Molech, some spell it Moloch. The Ammonites, arabs, worshiped this god. The worship ceremony consisted of the parents placing their children into the arms of the burning statue of Molech, to be burned. Cymbals and other music accompanied the sacrifice, probably to drown out the babyies screams.
Manasseh was one of the Israeli kings who did this to his own child. 2 Kings 21:6. The favorite site for this gruesome worship was the Valley of Ben Hinnom, which is right outside of Jerusalem. It was so hated by the Israelis, that the Jewish writers said the place was the gateway to hell, or Gehenna.
Arab sacrifice of their children in the bible…
Canaanites Deut 12:31
Ammonites Lev 20:2,3
Moabites 2 Kings 3:26,27
Phoenicians Jer 19:5
Why did the parents offer their children as a burnt offering? For a financial blessing from molech. Why do the parents of the arabs today offer their children as a burnt offering? Well, they too are receiving financial reward…up to $20,000 a kid.
The arabs are quite used to human sacrifice. They have been doing it for centuries.
Not all of the sacrifices were infants…when the ashes of the molech shrine were uncovered…most of the charred remains were that of teenage males.
Good point, Ebyjo. Always showing their love and peace towards all, aren’t they?
Hmmmm, looks like my better half covered things pretty good…yeah, what she said. LOL.
Yes, quite the teacher. I can see why she would be handy to have around…
Yes Cary this has helped me. I agree with you. I just do not believe anyone will listen anymore.
I have found myself at odds with the world and politics in general. I kinda had a melt down rant post about how I felt about the middle east at large. I feel numb and lost and have given up posting political thoughts.
I will continue to comment on yours and Kurts blogs, but for me posting about… well you can see my blog for my feelings.
You and Kurt are stronger then me. I am throwing in the towel. As always man.. you have my respect.
Forneus, I appreciate your respect. Admitting it’s beyond you is the first step in many different directions. It is not my strength that you see; if it were I would be throwing in the towel also. My strength comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Through Him I am able to do all things.
Feeling numb and lost is normal from a human point of view. It is all too overwhelming to try to understand by yourself. Since this is my blog, I am going to preach a bit here – you are lost because you don’t know where your anchor is. God loves you, He loves you so much that He sent His only Son to earth to die on a cross to atone for our sins. Without the atonement, we would be lost to sin and die once. With the atonement, we can ask Jesus into our hearts and our lives and live in the way we were designed to live – by giving God all the glory, and live for eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven when the end of time arrives. It will arrive – but you may not see the arrival. You may keel over and die tonight, and if you are not in a personl relationship with the Living God, you will not know His Glory on Judgement Day.
All have sinned, and fallen short of the Glory of God; the penalty for a sinful life is death; through Christ we have the ability to accept God’s Gift to us, that of payment in full for our sins and life everlasting with Him.
Please, find a pastor in your area, or call 1-800-NEED HIM. They will help you find your anchor.
Strength everlasting through Christ, our King. God bless you, Forneus, I pray you find direction soon. You are too intelligent to wander forever lost and confused.
Thank You Cary… I appreciate the words.
You are truely a good friend. I do not mind if you preach, I have many people in my life that tell me what you have said now and I have a deep respect for it. I find you very humble and more then just a good person. People like you and Kurt help make a difference. I just feel like an observer of bad things to come.
Observing is OK, but knowing the outcome ahead of time is more interesting.
