Sunday Afternoon
December 10th, 2006 . by CaryTMBWitW is not feeling well today. If I were watching this blog for clues about when TMBCitW would be joining us, I’d be hitting the Baby Pool link on the left and dropping some serious entries.
Sue over at Wear Red On Fridays has the latest picture of me in one of the Lightning Sharp polos. Why don’t you trot over there real quick and order one, or one of the t-shirts? Go ahead, show that you support the troops, we won’t assume you support anything else…
Friday evening I gave TMBWitW her Christmas present. Earlier in the week I had handed her a jewelry store bag, and she was kind of wigged out about how much I was spending – until she got into the bag, and saw that it contained a stick. Actually, an aluminum rod about ten inches long, 3/16″ in diameter, with an eye at one end. She was puzzled, then I handed her the case for her flute. She opened the case, and saw all new pads and a good polishing of her flute. She was very surprised. Friday evening was the capper for the theme, when she opened her last gift – a 30gig iPod.
This morning, while she’s been laying in bed trying to sleep off the effects of throwing up anything that was in her stomach, I’ve been loading her CDs onto her new iPod. I never realized how slow this computer was until I started trying to load songs on the iPod.
I’ve been able to get the laundry finished and the dishwasher unloaded and reloaded while wating for the songs to be copied. Do you know how slow that is in man-time?
I know what you’re thinking – what about you, Cary? Did you get anything for Christmas?
Well, I am getting a brand new daughter. I thought that would be gift enough. TMBWitW though otherwise, and back in July (did I forget to mention this back then?) TMBWitW cut me loose at Guitar Center. With a credit card. Without supervision. I came out of that deal with a Yamaha bass guitar, a 65 watt Crate bass amp, cables, extra strings, and a hardcase for the guitar. That was my Christmas in July.
I better get going – I’ve got to button this up, and head for church. We’ve been playing live for praise and worship for a while now, but I still need to run the shuttle beforehand, so I need to get there with enough time to set up, tune, sound check, and then get the shuttle started. Last week the shuttle didn’t want to start. I ended up using a member’s Suburban, and making two trips. That was fun. Threw my entire routine off, and then I was wandering in to the service after P&W had started – and I had to sneak up on stage and get the bass going without anyone noticing. That was kind of interesting – I think you would have enjoyed the humor in that with me, if you had been there.
Thank you for stopping by, God bless you all, Wear Red on Fridays, and get in on the Baby Pool!
Routines are a funny thing. Break them, and they refuse to be broken, so you wind up in them once again.
