Decision Made
November 4th, 2010 . by CaryI have been considering something very deeply lately. I have always been one to donate – mostly blood – to those in need. Since 1980-ish, while I was in the Corps, (i think i was trying to ‘bank’ against the possibility of needing an infusion) I have been donating blood to various organizations (Red Cross, United Blood Services) on a regular basis. That has fallen off lately, with a lack of time right now, but it will be picking up again soon.
As I said, I have been considering something lately. I have felt as if I needed to do something a little more, a little beyond the norm. You could say that I felt led to take another step.
An article in yesterday’s paper sealed the deal.
Back in another lifetime, I used to listen to Bob Mohan on KFYI. Sometime I agreed with him, sometimes I disagreed with him. He always got me to thinking about the WHY behind the agreeing or disagreeing, though; as opposed to today you have the right and the left with their talking heads and precious few people willing to think out their positions and actually be able to defend the stance they take.
I’ll be calling the Mayo Clinic on the way to work tomorrow, to find out the details.
I will keep you all updated.
Chat ya later…
Thank you for stopping by, In GOD We Trust, God bless you all, don’t buy or breed cats or dogs while homeless pets die (spay, neuter & adopt a pet, one by one, until there are none), Wear Red on Fridays, and support Warriors for Innocence!
UPDATE:
Left a message at the number provided. We’ll see where this goes.
That’s a heavy decision. I pray you’ve made the right one.
So far, the only decision has been to get more information. Depending on that, the next decision will be made, and so on.
I, too, pray I’ve made the right one.
I don’t agree with the thought that you don’t need one of your kidneys. Your body can have additional needs that you wouldn’t be prepared for.
It is a great gesture but not to be taken lightly. May the Lord protect and keep you.
That has been pointed out by a few people, ablur. Mostly, by my wife. The whole thing pretty much rides on them getting information back to me.
We will, patiently, prayerfully, see.
Listen to your heart.
You know who’s using that route to talk to you.
And he won’t lead you wrong.
