Insomnia
December 6th, 2010 . by CaryI’ve been having a recurring dream over the last several nights. In the middle of the night (in my dream, not necessarily by the clock) I am awakened by the scratching of a dog on the bed – their signal that they want to get up on the bed with us, but don’t want to upset anyone already on the bed. I can’t open my eyes, I can’t move, I can’t get up – but I can tell, I know, that it is Sara. And I can’t get up to get her on the bed. This alternates with a dream that Sara is scratching at the back door and I can’t get up to let her out.
And I physically wake up, and miss her, and can’t get back to sleep for a while.
I love you Cary, my husband, and I mourn her loss with you. I am sorry you cannot sleep. I would bring her back if I could. She will always, always, be in our hearts and memories. We Love You SaraBear!
A great companion will do that to ya. I had a Standard Poodle that I was similarly attached to and I still sometime dream about him.
My dreams of him now, in addition to my memories of him, are all good.
I hope you get there too my friend, and soon.
I am glad you have good memories and good dreams. I have the good memories, and the dreams aren’t bad, per se, just frustrating.
