Thursday Update
February 1st, 2007 . by CaryWell, as it turns out I’m not a commissioned salesman. Don’t get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for anyone who can support a family on a commission (with very high regards for my Dad, who supported seven kids and Mom, while Mom was able to stay home and raise us).
Sales is not my bag.
Design and layout is my bag. So, even as I continue to run for President, I am right now concentrating on landing full-time employment.
In a conversation on another blog (I can’t remember which one; I visit a number of them and tend to drop in on conversations all over the place) it would seem I left a wrong impression on someone. This person thinks that if I don’t agree with something she said then I don’t think she has the right to say it. Quite the contrary, I will defend to the death her right to say anything she wants. In an attempt to get into a discussion about what she said, I asked for more detail, and she accused me of trying to silence her.
*sigh*
I didn’t want to label her a “typical liberal”, so I dropped the train of thought, and figured she would go on to annoy someone else. I haven’t heard from her here, so I’m thinking she has lost interest also; I just wanted to take a moment to clarify my stand on freedom of speech.
My beautiful daughter turned one month old on the 30th, and right now she is making me type with one hand because she isn’t sleepy.
I got a haircut today. No, wait, yesterday. Actually, I got them all cut; it’s cheaper that way.
I need to find a way to download all my posts, as a back-up, in the event that I should need to move off of BlogSpot. If anyone knows of a way, please drop me a line…
Thank you for stopping by, God bless you all, Wear Red on Fridays, and write in Cary Cartter for President in 2008!
There are a few programs out there, the only one I have used is called BlueCrab or something (it’s for Mac OSX), but they allow you to download an entire site for offline viewing. I’m not sure if that is along the lines of what you could use, but you would have the entire blog on your computer.
Also, I placed your “banner” in the sidebar of my blog.

That’s a nice touch Cary. Many folks wouldn’t bother to clarify on their own blog. Speaks volumes about you (as if there was any doubt).
I think of you and your new bundle of joy/sleep deprivation on a regular basis.
I cut my hair every week, whether it needs it or not. You know the drill.
Semper Fi brother.
Kate: I appreciate your support; please pass my name along!
Since I’m on a PC, I don’t think BlueCrab would work, but thank you very much for the input. If you happen to run across a similar platform for the PC, I would sure like to know about it.
John, I had to – it had been burning in my mind for a couple of days. If I could remember which blog and which conversation, I would go back and track her down.
Sleep deprivation – I had long weeks in the field where I got more sleep!
Yes, I know the drill. I’ve been slacking, only getting it cut every three to four weeks, and I get really long-haired-hippy looking in between!

I found two programs that do the same thing as BlueCrab. They may not be anything amazing, since they are freeware, but it would get the job done. Here are the 2 I found:
http://www.httrack.com/page/2/en/index.html
http://www.offlinedownloader.com/
The Offline Downloader is free for a 30 day trial.
I hope that helps. I used these types of programs to back-up my websites, incase something happened… I still had the entire site saved on a disk. They do a pretty good job or organizing files and links too.

Thanks, Kate – I’ll give them both a shot. I appreciate you looking into that for me!
JJ, every week whether it needs it or not? ROTF!!!
Cary,
I was informed by a fellow PGR, our logos are obsolete, so I just updated mine.
Go Navy!
Thanks for the update – I just updated mine (thanks for having yours available to cut-n-paste!)
