Friday – Wear Red!
March 2nd, 2007 . by CaryGo here. Buy a shirt, wear it on Fridays, and declare your support for the troops.
In my blog perusing this morning, I ran across Greybeard‘s blog as part of my normal readings. He has embarked on a “shape-up/lose weight” crusade; his remarks opened my eyes a bit. So – since he has an inch on me in height, and I have twenty + pounds on him, perhaps I need to follow his lead – eat less, and exercise! What a radical diet plan…
For the record, I am starting this diet plan today, and my weight is 226. Yes, I have a spare tire – look here if you don’t believe me!
Thank you for stopping by, God bless you all, Wear Red on Fridays, and write in Cary Cartter for President in 2008!
Man, you and I are peas in a pod!
You carry your weight exactly the same way I do… all in the trunk. I’ll bet it’s not “nerf-ball” fat either, is it? My fat is hard, almost like muscle. I think very dense fat is more dangerous than the nerf-ball kind… harder to pump blood through.
The reason I’m embarking on this “get thin slowly” plan-
I have always been able to lose weight when I put my mind to it. Once, years ago, I lost a pound a day for two weeks! Of course, when I quit paying attention and got back to eating without watching my diet in detail- it ALL came back!
This time will be different. This time I’m gonna lose it slowly so I establish habits that will help me maintain my weight when I get where I wanta be. The weekly weigh-in will help to lose that extra pound before it becomes three, or five!
Good luck Cary! And I gotta say, you’re ALMOST as good lookin’ as me!
Yes, mid-to-top heavy it is!
“Nerf-ball” fat – what a good description! – but you’re right, I have a hard, almost muscular layer, I think most of my excess is under the outside crunchy layer.
Kind of like a Tootsie Pop – hard outside, chewy middle … better stop that before I sabotage my own efforts.
Setting the good habits is the most difficult part of the process – eating less is easy; at least for me and my level of willpower (when I kick it in!), it’s the eating habits that I need to change. More exercise – especially in the area of the “push-aways” – will definitely help.
I look forward to getting back to a reasonable weight.
As far as being almost as good looking as you – no way! You are MUCH better looking!
