Keep Your Nose Out Of Our State

July 1st, 2013 . by Cary

“I consider the government of the United States as interdicted by the Constitution from intermeddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises. This results not only from the provision that no law shall be made respecting the establishment or free exercise of religion, but from that also which reserves to the States the powers not delegated to the United States. Certainly, no power to prescribe any religious exercise or to assume authority in any religious discipline has been delegated to the General Government. It must then rest with the States.”

–Thomas Jefferson, letter to Samuel Miller, 1808

Founder’s Quote Daily

This means that the Federal Government is limited to what the Constitution says it can do. Education is not on that list. Energy Control is not on that list. Forcing people to buy insurance that they cannot afford is not on that list. Supporting foreign terrorists is not on that list.

Enough of your actions, Obama. Enough of the Government running and ruining the lives of the citizens. Time to trim this branch back to the trunk.

(private message to the NSA goons who are reading this: I am an American. I have certain rights given to me by God. Nothing you do or say will stop me from exercising those rights. I was born free, and I will die free, if need be, to do my part in assuring that future generations have that chance also)

Founder’s Quotes

“Temporary delusions, prejudices, excitements, and objects have irresistible influence in mere questions of policy. And the policy of one age may ill suit the wishes or the policy of another. The constitution is not subject to such fluctuations. It is to have a fixed, uniform, permanent construction. It should be, so far at least as human infirmity will allow, not dependent upon the passions or parties of particular times, but the same yesterday, to-day, and for ever.”

–Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution

Founder’s Quote Daily

I am subscribed to The Patriot Post – I think through Facebook, but I could be wrong – and part of that subscription is a daily quote from a founder of these United States called, appropriately enough, the Founder’s Quote Daily. They contain very pertinent and important thoughts on the founding of this country, and they should serve as reminders to those who have decided to forget history. Those of us who have not forgotten history use them as boosters, to help us get through what is happening to our country, and as a rally point on the road to restoring this great nation. Which, by the way, will happen.

Whether it happens peacefully or through the shedding of blood remains to be seen, although there are those who believe we are past the point of a peaceful resolution.

Double Standards and the Hypocrisy of the Left

June 23rd, 2013 . by Cary

So, Paula Deen (the best cook ever, sorry Mom) gets fired for coming from a culture that used to use the “N” word.

Seems to be just last Friday L’il Wayne was hollering that word very loudly while filming a video of him stomping on the American Flag. His record label not only didn’t fire him, but is continuing to promote his records. Double standard much?

Seems to me Bill Maher got a free pass when he used the “C” word to refer to Sarah Palin. This was a direct attack on a single person, not a general description of a race of people. The “C” word is offensive to a lot of people; why does Maher still have a job? Hypocrisy much?

The double standard and hypocrisy of the Left Leaning Libtards is sickening to me. Clean up your own house before crying about any one else’s, you little whiners.

Red Friday!

June 21st, 2013 . by Cary

Beautiful day. Had my Red Friday polo on, and then the rabbit incident happened. Seems this morning when one of the rabbits was out in the backyard rabbit run, a certain pint-sized member of this family thought it would be interesting to let her out. The Mother of the family ended up giving chase. As I was headed out to Mesa to measure houses at the time, I missed all the fun, and no one wants to stage a reenactment. Anyway, the rabbit broke of a claw or three, so we needed to administer oral antibiotics (hey, we have animals, we have medicine). The first dose went the wrong way and ended up all over my shirt. It is a very sticky substance, and stains quickly. The shirt is resting comfortably with pre-treatment on it.

Speaking of animals – Smudge, the newest member, tried to jump over the controller cable attached to my venerable and trusty PS2 (I’ve had this machine since it was bleeding edge technology, and my favorite game was on the screen – Dirt to Daytona). Problem – Smudge has trouble hopping over the hose on the patio. The controller cable was about chest high on him.

Not sure which was the worst sound – the crash of the deck on the tiled floor, or the grinding sound emanating afterwards. No matter – it won’t read the disks anymore. Might be time to find another one, or even [shudder] upgrade to a newer system. Problem is, the new systems don’t play the old disks …

Hard to Tell the Left from the “Right”

June 18th, 2013 . by Cary

“The people can never willfully betray their own interests: But they may possibly be betrayed by the representatives of the people; and the danger will be evidently greater where the whole legislative trust is lodged in the hands of one body of men, than where the concurrence of separate and dissimilar bodies is required in every public act.”

–James Madison, Federalist No. 63, 1788

Founder’s Quote Daily

There’s a problem with the last line – “dissimilar bodies” – all three branches are now in collusion with one another, and they all share the same goal – the destruction of the United States from within.
