This: Tweeting the word ‘drill’ could mean your Twitter account is read by U.S. government spies

Once again, the Government is here to help. The Department of Homeland Security (while taking a break from not providing any Homeland Security) has determined that certain “key words” warrant an investigative drill down by agents. In other words, if you Tweet, blog, or Facebook about things like the collapse of your sand castle when the tide came in, the dentist using a drill on your teeth, the concern you may have about illegal immigrants, or even the strain your mother-in-law puts on your relationship, the DHS may be breathing down your neck.

Personally, I’m not worried. I’ve been on Nappy’s watch list for some time, since I blog, am a veteran, male, white, believe in the Second Amendment, believe in limited government, believe in the Constitution, and also because I judge a person on their actions, not on the color of their skin *coughobamacough*.

If you are worried, then do this: On Facebook, restrict your posts to only friends and family. Then, make sure you only have friends and family on your list.

On your blog, be sure to liberally quote the First Amendment, and your support of the First by your support of the Second.

On Twitter, make sure you know who is following you. You can block people you aren’t sure of. You can report and block people who want to do illegal things with/to you, so you should also be able to block unknown (to you) people from following and trying to “determine your identity” – like the DHS will be doing if they think you are using key words.

Funny thing – the DHS shouldn’t have any problem determining my identity – since I don’t hide it.

I give thanks I am around every day, even if I don’t post about it.

I will be spending the day first with the Cartter family in Tucson, honoring our mother’s request for a family picnic in her memory. Then, I will be joining the church family for another meal and more sharing time.

Ya’ll be careful. If you are driving, watch out for the other guy. He’s probably not paying attention to the road, and one of you ought to be.

As most of my readers know by know, I managed to mess up my knee. It’s called Derangement Meniscus, and it means the shock absorber between the tibia and the fibula (behind the knee cap, cartilage on the tibia) was traumatized. So far, no one has mentioned the “S” word, and I am hoping to avoid it altogether. Currently treatment involves elevation and alternating ice. Staying off the feet helps. Boss lady is accommodating, assigning things that can be accomplished while sitting down.

Pushing my luck, that is, trying to hurry the healing process, can/will result in permanent injury and surgery. This will greatly reduce my effectiveness when it comes to self-locomotion.

As much pain as this has meant, I realize how lucky I am.

I have two legs.

For the most part, they work like they are supposed to.

I can wiggle all ten of my toes.

Sure, I use crutches for now, but that’s just temporary.

I cannot express my thanks for those members of the armed forces who have given up so much of their lives for me.

Did you hear the news? Obama(THHO) has shortened the time frame before forgiving the balance on your student loan! Yay! HE’S GIVING AWAY MORE OF YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS THAT YOU PAID IN TAXES. Wake the hell up, people! He’s giving away MORE MONEY that the GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE. Student loans that have been GUARANTEED by the government – using TAX DOLLARS collected BY THE GOVERNMENT – are going to be FORGIVEN. That means that you and I, the TAX PAYING CITIZENS of this country, are footing the bill for hundreds of millions of dollars in student loans.

And you know the sneakiest part? He’s using this as an obvious play for student votes in the next election. Yes, he’s BUYING VOTES using MONEY HE DOES NOT HAVE to BUY THE VOTE of the impressionable young students.

This country cannot take another four years of being spent into oblivion.
