Tuesday Bluesday
September 1st, 2015 . by CaryWell, I can’t blame Obama(THHO) for this, so I won’t. Last night a big storm blew through Central Phoenix and it happened to knock out the power for the block where the plant I work at is located. SO, day off, most likely. If the power is restored, I may go in later. Otherwise I am taking a vacation day. I have a few things to catch up around here.
Went to the VA audiology yesterday after work, got a hearing test done (surprise! I’m hard of hearing) and the VA is issuing a set of hearing aids for me. They will be ready on or about the 21st.
I could not locate my six-disc Bluray set of the Star Wars movies. We had cleaned out all the hiding spots for movies (we thought) and we were stumped. A similar issue had arisen a few years ago, with a bunch of movies starring one actor, and we never did find those. I happened to be cleaning out a cabinet this morning, and found the Star Wars discs. Of course, I have Episode 1 playing as I type.
My Kindle is dying. It constantly needs to be reset, and it takes a while to reload all of the books I have collected. I will be contacting Amazon later today.
The genealogy portion of this web site has been dormant for a while. I will be updating what I can.
The GOP is sure fired up about some non-traditional candidates, are they not? I haven’t seen vitriol and attacks like this from the GOP since … well, since Reagan ran for President …

I Want It Both Ways
August 13th, 2015 . by CaryI know, it’s been a while. So sue me.
Let’s look at today’s serving of “It’s The Law Except When It’s Not”, shall we? First, take a read over at Chicks On The Right.
The weepy left wants the laws to be not applied when someone is complying with said law. Michigan’s laws are such that a person who is licensed to carry concealed is allowed to carry a weapon on school campuses, even if the campus is posted as “Gun Free”. The dad successfully got the court to rule that he didn’t have to carry concealed, just as long as he is licensed to do so. The left doesn’t like this, and wants to send the school into a paroxysm of fear and lock down anytime a weapon is sighted. The left doesn’t want to follow the judge’s decision.
Unless, of course, it benefits them. Then you have to follow the judge’s decision.
Second entry today comes from the Washington Post.
Here we have a County Clerk in Kentucky who, instead of being forced to issue same-sex marriage licenses, stopped issuing licenses completely, straight or gay. A gay couple, instead of getting a state license from a different county, insists (read: made their feet go stompy and held their breath) they should be able to get a license form the county where they reside. The judge who heard the case decided that, indeed, you have to do what judges say, no matter what you personally feel. This is in violation of the Clerk’s First Amendment right.
To recap: You MUST do what judges rule to be correct, regardless of your personal feelings, unless the judge ruled against a closely held belief of the Left.

It’s For The Children!
June 8th, 2015 . by CaryObama(THHO)’s buddy, the “Reverend” Michael Pfleger, has this to say about the large number of violent deaths in Chicago, while neatly sidestepping the issue of who is pulling the trigger:
“I’m tired of funerals of babies, while [the] NRA, manufacturers, and [gun stores], run to the bank making profits from death. … At the end of the day you can argue with us [and] you can call us names, but you got to deal with God. And the blood of our children is on your hands. And you will pay for the murder of our children.”
Notice he also sidestepped the issue of abortion-on-demand, which annually kills more than 3 million children, which is many times more than the “children” who have died in Chicago through firearm-related deaths.
Just sayin’.

The Jenner Thing
June 5th, 2015 . by CaryJonah Goldberg: “[T]here’s something gloriously perverse in celebrating someone’s courage to boldly smash sexual categories and then, in the same breath, castigating them for reinforcing gender stereotypes. If men are to be free to become women, surely they get to decide what kind of women they want to be. The first word in Vanity Fair is, after all, ‘Vanity.’ The Sports Illustrated swimsuit models seem very happy to be paid lots of money to be objectified by the male gaze. Who am I to judge? … On most days of the week, liberals are fond of claiming that Republicans are ‘anti-science’ on everything from global warming to evolution. Well, last I checked, biology hadn’t been declared a branch of the humanities. Bruce Jenner was 65 years old when he decided to be a she, but that’s not why Caitlyn can’t have a baby. Figuratively speaking, removing the spigot won’t change the rest of the plumbing. That’s not patriarchal oppression talking. That’s science. And no matter how fluid gender may or may not be, the biological category of ‘female’ isn’t going away anytime soon.”
