Harleigh read law in Rochester, Moved to Utica, Mich. in about 1834 and was admitted to the bar of McComb Co. in 1837. He took an active part in civic and political affairs. Me moved to Mt. Clement in the same county and was elected to two terms to the Michigan Legislature from 1844-48. On May 17, 1863(?) he was appointed Judge of Supreme Court for the Territory of Arizona by President Lincoln. He died in Arizona.
